I'm not someone who tans (out of choice for my skin) but I do love the glow that comes from faking it. When my Bali trip included a photoshoot for the blog, rather than risk a spray tan locally, I packed my Loving Tan mousse and my LTD Little Tanning Dress (this is the Ellie maxi in navy) ... the great thing about the LTD is that it doubles as an everyday/night dress in your suitcase.
Thanks to my friends at Little Tanning Dress, everyone coming along to Styling You's 10th birthday celebrations on July 28 will receive an LTD in their gift bag. I've also got a discount code for you if you'd like to purchase your own. Enter NIKKI15 at checkout for $15 off your order.
Hello from our fabulous villa in Bali! I sent the boys off quad biking this morning while I did a photoshoot at our villa for the upcoming spring-summer season of FRANKiE4 footwear ... we shot 14 pairs of shoes including these favourite slide styles that are coming in some gorgeous new colourways for the new season. Consider this your exclusive sneak peek. Say hello to MARiA in rose gold, a gorgeous soft rose that will be so versatile in your summer wardrobe. And LiLLi in leopard. I've been wearing both slides all week and loving. Together with the ALYCE wedges in tan and JACKiE sneaker in white/silver, I've had my travel shoe-robe well and truly sorted.
Big shout-out and thanks to Frockk Australia which loaned a fabulous selection of its trademark cotton and linen pieces (including these two) to complement the footwear. frockk is available online and in store and stockists in Australia but also via its three Bali boutiques in Seminyak, Canggu and Ubud. I may have treated myself to a couple of pieces.
Who else is hanging out for FRANKiE4 spring-summer 2018?

It's just one more sleep until we take off for a 10-day holiday to one of my favourite places - Bali. We'll be staying in a couple of new (to us) places and cannot wait to explore and re-charge. I'll be blogging about what we get up to, so stay tuned ...
I'm spending today finalising my travel capsule wardrobe, so I thought I'd update this post I wrote last year with a new 15-piece capsule: https://www.stylingyou.com.au/2018/06/what-to-pack-for-a-holiday-in-bali/
Anyone else heading to Bali soon? Where are you staying?

Like I mentioned yesterday, I first noticed the Carolina Lifestyle label while airport shopping in Sydney’s domestic airport. The kiosk stands out and just screams “stop, browse and shop”. The bags, the earrings, the tops, the knits … they could all march directly into my wardrobe and be instant buddies with what’s already there. I talked more about the label in a Model and Me blog post (you can catch up here - https://www.stylingyou.com.au/2018/06/carolina-autumn-winter-2018/).
Pictured here are four more pieces from the label. I’m loving the longer tunic for a versatile option across all seasons. I’ve knotted it from the inside to add shape (https://www.carolina.net.au/collections/dresses-and-tunics/products/nice-tunic-in-pink-2). It’s an over-sized fit so size down if you’d like the look less relaxed.
These leggings are your new go-tos when you want a legging that is supportive but one that isn’t too thick for wearing under dresses or tunics as tights (https://www.carolina.net.au/collections/pants/products/leggings-in-black).
Leopard print is always a good idea, so adding in a clutch like this one means that you give any outfit a focal point (check out the clutch range here - https://www.carolina.net.au/collections/clutches-1).
Pop on a statement earring and you’re good to go (check out the earring range here - https://www.carolina.net.au/collections/earrings)

Happy Model and Me Monday ... this week I'm introducing you to Carolina - a fabulous Australian lifestyle label I first discovered while running for a plane at Sydney airport. On the blog I'm featuring two pieces from the collection - the shirt and coated jeans pictured below on the model. You can see me in the same pieces here: http://bit.ly/2K2I8DW
PS. Stay tuned this week for news on how you can win a $250 gift card to spend in store or online.
WOW. Just WOW. What a day that was Day 1 at the FRANKiE4 footwear Melbourne pop-up (scroll right to check out times the pop-up will be open this weekend). Loved meeting some gorgeous women from the SY community. Nothing more fun than helping others choose styles and colours. Also loved rugging up ❄️ (actually wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be)
Wearing: White Label Noba jacket (bought last winter in the sale); Zimmermann top (bought in the sales); Motto jeans (ex Styling You Shop); FRANKiE4 footwear NAOMi boots in black.
If you're new around here you may not know that we run an online store in conjunction with this blog. The Styling You Shop is home twice a year to my seasonal fashion edit but, in between these capsules, we offer some of my favourite fashion, beauty and lifestyle products.
To make the "Nikki's faves" list, they have to be things I love so much, I want you to fall in love with them too. Some products on my fave list stay there and are re-stocked regularly because you DO fall in love with them. Others are just on the list for a short time because they're only available from my suppliers for a limited time.
Want to see some of the new stuff?
Oh good, I was hoping you'd say so. All the details here: http://bit.ly/2JFp0fC
**Thanks so very much for shopping with our online store. We do do a little happy dance when every order comes in - and so do our independent suppliers. Shopping with us helps so many small businesses - not just my own.**
Ok, so the Bachie couple Tim and Anna are not technically my friends but they did get married last weekend in Italy's Puglia region, which I visited long before they did, so that counts for something, yes? Australian Royalty aside, I've got friends travelling in Italy, Croatia and France right now. My Facebook and Instagram feeds are full to overflowing with my fave European spots. I LOVE following along on other people's holidays, checking their posts as soon as I wake up each day. I LOVE it.
So, tell me, are you in Europe right now? Heading away soon? Love following others when they're travelling?
PS. I've shared some of my fave European travel blog posts for you below ... you know, in case you're planning a trip some time soon.

Now, I know the sight of bare legs in June will shock many of my southern style sisters but it's a reality up here when some days can reach low or mid-20s. This week's Model and Me features the perfect layer-able tunic dress in the most delicious colour. It's by Fabrik - below on the model and here on me: http://bit.ly/2LATtrR
Do you love a tunic dress/leggings combo as a winter alternative to jeans/pants?
What tends to happen in end-of-season sales, is that we can get caught up in the frenzy of what we’re “saving” without putting mindfulness into the shopping equation.
There is no denying the thrill of the chase when it comes nabbing a bargain but remember: It’s not a bargain unless you LOVE it! I mean REALLY love.
This week I hit up Toowong Village to check out ALL the things on sale and boy, oh boy, I found some amazing pieces that would make very good additions to my wardrobe - now and for plenty of winters to come.
This Sussan outfit ticked two casual essentials' boxes - jeans and anorak - plus a trend box in the slogan tee. This outfit (minus the boots) was originally $340 and is now $160. WINNING.
Make sure you check out the Toowong Village Facebook page for more of my finds!

Happy Model and Me Monday. I'm kickstarting your week by introducing you to a new Australian label I think you'll love - particularly if you love a splash of colour and a fun print. Say hello to Harvest Lane. Below on the model is one of the Melbourne-based label's signature styles. You can check it out on me here: http://bit.ly/2ISQvkK
There is something so incredibly luxe and comforting about wearing cashmere. It really does spoil you for wearing other knitwear. But not all cashmere is the same. One family-owned Australian company has been perfecting the art of cashmere for 30 years - Cashmerism – and I warn you, it’s addictive!
Cashmerism uses the finest Inner Mongolian cashmere and everything from sourcing the raw fibre to dyeing, spinning, designing and making is done in-house to ensure quality is maintained. You feel very special wearing Cashmerism pieces.
This season, the label’s Melbourne-based designer Sabrina Jiang has created a collection of fashionably timeless pieces, including the two featured here.
Click on each photo for details and a link to each.
**WIN 1 of 5 Cashmerism 100 ways cashmere narrow scarves valued at $88 each. Cashmerism has produced and designed ethical cashmere pieces for 30 years. 'Tis the season for layering ... on the blog (https://www.stylingyou.com.au/2018/05/how-to-wear-a-poncho/) I'm sharing my top tips for layering like a boss.
Plus you could WIN the key layering piece from Motto I can't survive without - in winter or while travelling.
So, tell me, have you got a layering tip to add?
(TRAVEL CAPSULES) Lately, I've been trawling Instagram for updates from places we visited in Europe last year. The European spring-summer season is in full swing and I just want to jump on a plane and go.
Maybe you are in full planning mode for a European trip as you read this? Maybe you're there already? Maybe you know someone going soon? (Help a sister out and share this post with them!)
On the blog I've got two more planning and packing travel capsules for you. Details: https://www.stylingyou.com.au/2018/05/what-to-pack-for-a-holiday-in-europe-spring-summer
PLUS: I've got a special discount for you on travel insurance with Allianz Australia - don't leave home without it!
(MODEL AND ME) It's very common knowledge that I've never met an animal print I didn't love ... and that I consider it a neutral in my wardrobe - HAH. So, it's no surprise that this frock caught my eye the moment I stepped into White Label Noba for a preview of its autumn-winter 2018 collection. This is the perfect frock for an autumn-winter event or occasion ... or just because. Pictured below on the model and here on me: http://bit.ly/2rFTT7N
The three awesome humans that make me a mum ... I've had the best Mother's Day ever. Up early with us all running the Mother's Day Classic, followed by the youngest winning on the rugby field, late lunch (why we dressed up) and drinks with good friends. Hashtag blessed a thousand times over.
Sending out big love to all the mothers in the Styling You community, with a virtual hug to those (like me) without their mums today or yearning to be a mum.
Wearing for #everydaystyle: Bohemian Traders dress (I'm in S as it's oversized - http://bit.ly/2IAHpZU ) and jacket (http://bit.ly/2BnmOUL - I'm in L); FRANKiE4 footwear NAOMi boots in tan; Jimena Alejandra earrings (Mother's Day gift - YAY).
An afternoon well spent ... my son’s rugby club held its Ladies’ Day this afternoon. There was 🍾+💃+ awesome women. Happy Mother’s Day Eve!
Wearing for #everydaystyle ... Hunt + Kelly dress (available in the SY Shop - https://stylingyoushop.com.au/collections/tops/products/hunt-kelly-kerala-dress) + FRANKiE4 footwear NAOMi boots.
YAY for a cold snap - even in Queensland! Well, the legs are still bare but an old shearling vest was employed to counteract the icy wind. Happy Friday!
Boots: @FRANKiE4 footwear NAOMi boots in black
In case you missed my cameo on Sunrise this morning ... congrats to Caroline and Al and the entire FRANKiE4 footwear team for creating shoes that look good AND are good for our feet!
Model and Me coming to you on a Tuesday on account of the public holiday here yesterday ... but it's a goodie, particularly if, like me, you struggle to find a pair of black pants that work with your curves. This is the second pair of Harlow pants I've fallen big time for. Below on the model and here on me: http://bit.ly/2jDimXO
(UPDATE) Styling You Shop autumn-winter edit. There are limited sizes in these best-sellers. Don't miss out.
My number one tip for buying Mother's Day gifts for the mums in your life is the same as buying for any female in your life at any time of the year. It's about the individual woman. We're complex creatures, yes, but we all have our likes and dislikes when it comes to gifts. Sharing my tips and details of these 10 pictured gift ideas on the blog: http://bit.ly/2w8Y29W
So, tell me, do you love finding just the right gift for someone? Don't mind a spot of self-gifting?
Every autumn-winter wardrobe needs a long-sleeve black tee. This tee has cut that fits the bust and skims the hips and stomach. It has a high-low hem, covering the bottom at the back. It's the perfect layering piece but very much holds its own worn as is.
Nikki (size 14, 166cm) wears size 2
Jasmine (size 8-10, 158cm) wears size 0
Stacey (size 16, 178cm) wears size 2
Baby it's cold outside ... even in Queensland. This knit will be on high rotation this autumn-winter. It's cosy comfort in a layering piece. The colours work back with denim, black and every winter neutral.
This is a one-size-fits-most garment, shown here on me (size 14); Jasmine (size 8) and Stacey (size 16).
Available in the Styling You Shop: https://stylingyoushop.com.au/collections/autumn-winter-2018/products/capullo-marly-gilet
Happy Model and Me Monday ... let's talk Modal, the sustainable and ethically produced modal fabric used in pieces in collection from wYse. It's so incredibly comfortable - and comforting - on. I'm sharing it via new pieces from the autumn-winter 2018 collection at wYse. Below on the model and here on me: http://bit.ly/2Frqx24
PS. Do you love a tube skirt like I do for wardrobe versatility?
How much do you really spend on clothes and accessories each month? I've probably used the words, "this old thing", a little too often to hide or brush over a new clothing purchase. Please tell me I'm not alone and have a read of my post http://bit.ly/2FjlCQN. I've included an anonymous one-question survey at the end of it. I'd love you to share your shopping budget/expenditure.
PS. Full disclaimer: I own and operate an online store selling clothes and accessories! Including this fabulous Hunt + Kelly frock :)
We were up bright and early to watch our local ANZAC march and service. My eldest son joined us to watch my youngest march with his school. Next ANZAC Day, my eldest will be marching in uniform, most probably in Sydney (if he's not at sea) ... this July he's off to become an officer in the navy. Talk about all the feels.
This afternoon we headed to the home of friends for a beautiful lunch celebrating all the good that is country. I took a pavlova and this Donna Hay ANZAC Caramel Slice (recipe here: http://bit.ly/2HXacFd). Trust me, don't wait until next ANZAC Day to make it! It's SO good.
Wearing: Bohemian Traders top (http://bit.ly/2Hpz37r - I'm in M); HUNT + KELLY shorts (last summer); Jimena Alejandra earrings; Empire of Bees bag (available in the Styling You Shop http://bit.ly/2vOLyUy); FRANKiE4 footwear LiLLi slides
